After 5 years of college, 2 engineering degrees from the U of M (Michigan), and 3 exciting years after school working in a factory in Minnesota....I've moved on.
Onto a new chapter! I discovered photography shortly after starting my post-school life in the corporate world. It started out as just a hobby but then rapidly gained momentum as I began photographing my friends, local bands, and events. I had found a passion that has limitless possibilities and opens the world to a wide landscape that is mine and ours to capture. After a couple cold, rough winters in Minneapolis there were only so many nick-nacks and cats that you can photograph inside (and I was not about to get into ice photography any time soon). It was time to move camp.
So! In May of last year I wrapped up 3 years of creating better processes and designs for SOMONE ELSE, and I have been working ever since on creating MY OWN photography business. I hitched my wagon and headed farther west to Colorado! Last summer I kick started my career with a well known action sports photography company. From there my portfolio of work and clients has expanded to include a diverse array of sporting & live music events, portraits, landscapes, and wildlife. I took the winter to develop a game plan while living and working in the Vail Valley as an on-mountain photographer.
AND NOW: I am in need of purchasing a lens (that I have rented many times over the past year for jobs), and the potential that this piece of equipment has for taking my business to the next level is huge! The 70-200mm f/2.8 lens is CRITICAL in the action sports photographers arsenal of lenses. It creates depth with it's fast speed, the image stabilization ensures a crisp image every time, and the focal length is just right for ensuring that you've captured THE moment.
WHERE YOU COME IN: I am looking to secure funds to purchase the Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 DI VC USD Lens for Canon EOS. It retails new for $1499 (sometimes on offer with a $100 rebate). Link: http://www.adorama.com/TM70200VEOS.html?utm_sou... It is a lens worth purchasing new from a reputable vendor (such as Adorama or B & H) because it will include a 6 year manufacturer's warranty. Additionally I will be purchasing a $75 - 5 year Spill & Drop warranty that will ensure that I don't have to worry about diving into a mud pit for the perfect shot.
WHAT DO YOU GET?: Based on the generosity of your funding you will receive anywhere from a simple thank you shout on my social media page on up to a poster size, high quality print of an image of choice from my portfolio of work.
