The photo above are my mom and dad before the storm when my dad came home from the hospital due to stroke. My dad had not recovered from paralyses due to stoke and now have to live extra difficult due to devastation brought to them by the Super typhoon Haiyan and they are not the only ones suffering from the aftermath of Haiyan. My hometown was hit by the Super Typhoon Haiyan or Yolanda very hard. Currently residence are not eating and drinking well. No supplies in the store, no transportation, no electricity and no phone lines. My parents and their neighbors lost their houses during the storm. They are starting to get weaker and sicker due to scarcity of food and water supplies in the area. This campaign can help them tremendously get their basic needs:food, medicines, water, clothing's and shelter. They are so far away from Cebu where the relief are available. To get to cebu they'll have to spend day and a lot of money to get there. Currently with no means of Transportation, these families are disabled. They will not get relief like others in Tacloban, Leyte or Cebu. They are away from the media's focus. Through this campaign they can get help too.
What We Need:
We need supplies, such as food, and goods, clothing's, diapers, babies supplies and medicine. These are the priorities as of now.
Clothes sizes mostly small and medium with few large and extra larges.
Later, we need to raise money to help the community rebuild their homes when basic needs are met. With this amount we help alleviate financial burden to rebuild their homes.
For dry goods and supply donations please send directly to:
Lenie Vergara
Bolo Roxas City Philippines, Capiz.
She is our point of contact there as far as distributing these supplies.
Please use this website for monetary donations. Lenie will still be our point of contact there.
The Impact
These families are by no means middle class. They are very poor. With your help, we can at least help restore lives closer to what they use to be, send their kids back to school, and they can live their life again with roofs on their heads.
