Our Story
Hello Friends
& New Friends,
My name is Mayuka Thais. I am a singer
songwriter, art educator, artist, & a motivational speaker for youth.
I wrote a song called "Hope Is My Friend" to help raise funds for the
Share The Hope campaign at Atlanta Georgia's Children's Rite
Hospital. (CHOA-Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.)
I am here to
ask if you would be so kind as to help donate funds to purchase Christmas
presents for the children in the hospital. You can do this by purchasing my
song "Hope Is My Friend".
The Atlanta
Georgia's Children's Rite Hospital is known as "the
largest pediatric health care system in the U.S. The Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta expects more than 1,200
patients in their hospitals during the last two weeks of the year." For this reason it is
important that this hospital receives extra help in giving some special TLC to
the children who are not able to be at home with their families during the
holiday season. Not only will I purchase Christmas gifts for the children, but
if I can reach the necessary donation goal, Mrs. Santa and I will travel to the
hospital to deliver the gifts in person, entertain and sing for the children.
In order to
buy Christmas presents for the hospitalized children in time for the holidays,
my “Hope Is My Friend” campaign will last for 30 days. The campaign ends on
December 16. I will post a thank you video and a copy of my check to the hospital
on my social networking sites as proof that I sent all of the proceeds to the
hospital. Because it takes about 2 weeks for indiegogo to process the funds
received, the campaign period is shorter than most.
Mrs. Santa is a well-known personality in Japan. As her dancing "Reindeer" we performed for children and families in theaters, hospitals, illumination events, and on Japanese national television including NHK and SkyPerfecTV!
OR
You can also
share your message to the children through the hospital's campaign HERE instead of sending
funds or purchasing my song.
The Impact
If I can make
an impact on the lives of children in one of the largest hospitals in the US,
then perhaps there is HOPE that other people will rally and help children’s
hospitals in other communities. My HOPE is that by creating this campaign, I
can raise awareness of the challenges and hurdles that children, parents and
medical staff face each day and the tremendous need to support and help
them. Even after the campaign
ends, I intend to use my song, "Hope Is My Friend" to educate and
remind people that children who are hospitalized need a smile, love,
encouragement to pull them through each day and sustain them while they are
hospitalized. We all need to give
a sense of hope to the children, their parents and recognize the great efforts
of the medical teams that endeavor to help, heal and sustain them.
What We Need
& What You Get
The minimum
campaign goal of $18,000 is needed to purchase gifts for the children and to help
get Mrs. Santa and me from California to Atlanta to deliver the gifts and
entertain the children in person. This way you will know that the children
actually received the gifts. However,
my campaign gives you a choice of purchasing my song or donating funds to be
used primarily for Christmas gifts and transportation costs. If permission is
given, pictures of children actually receiving gifts, being entertained and
listening to me sing will be posted.
I do not have any sponsors or funding sources for this campaign or I
would not be asking for your help. I also want to deliver the gifts in
person and entertain the children but I need funds to cover the airfare because
I cannot cover the expenses on my own.
Other Ways
You Can Help
If you would
like to be a part of this campaign, give from your heart and bring smiles and
joy to children this holiday season, this is your chance!!! Please post this on your facebook,
twitter, tumblr, and send e-mails to help spread the word. Who knows? Maybe
someone in another country will try to help children who are hospitalized and
really start a HOPE DOMINO EFFECT!
I believe
that despite everyone's differences, our World is a community and we are
responsible for each others well- being and happiness. This has been a
turbulent and challenging year for people all over the world. But HOPE is what keeps us going each
and every day. Let’s start by
giving HOPE to children who, despite their illnesses, deserve a joyful
life. Let's share the HOPE and
let's share the LOVE this holiday season.
Thank you for
reading my request and taking part in the campaign.
With kind
regards and warmest blessings,
Mayuka Thais
