Help Kris buy a tractor and help performing artists at the same time!
Would it warm your heart to help one person and then to see that person pay it forward? Well here’s your chance, in what may seem like
THE MOST RANDOM FUNDRAISING COMBO EVER!
Very soon I will be moving into a house in the forest near Lake Shasta in Northern California. I was very fortunate to find a place on a mountain side that had flat land - I am now the proud owner of a 4 acre lot, which includes a LOT of oak trees, gardening areas, small areas of lawn, and in the back, a seasonal creek. YAY!
And then I realized that with many trees (read: tons of leaves), tall oat grass in the summer, and a lawn…I was going to need a lawn tractor. Well that’s an expense I didn’t anticipate.
**SIDE NOTE**
I just moved from the Los Angeles area. While I loved my jobs, the traffic, noise, 1.5 hour commute, and lack of growth opportunity was taking its toll. I also knew I would never be able to afford a place of my own there. What allowed me to move was my ability to do remote work as a marketing and career consultant for performing artists. Through consulting I am able to work individually with performing artists on marketing and branding materials, career development, mindset, organizational planning and goal setting, and more. I am thrilled to have almost 50 artists on my consulting roster since June! And although I have been blessed by coming in contact with many performers who are able to make an investment in order to further their careers, there have been many who expressed sincere interest who did not have the funds to do so.
Back to the tractor. It became apparent through research that the best fit for the job was going to be the John Deere D160 Lawn Tractor.
The total cost for this beauty (pictured above alongside many examples of marketing materials I have created for artists already) is just over $2500. So I’m going to need some help. But I didn’t want to just ask for help - if someone is willing to help me, then I should be willing to help someone too, right?
THE PAY IT FORWARD PART:
So, for anyone who would like to help me with a gift toward the purchase of a tractor, I will give a gift to a performer who cannot afford consulting. For every $100 mark that passes toward the purchase of the tractor, I will give TWO HOURS of free consultation to a singer who cannot financially afford to do so on his/her own. This is almost half of my normal fee.
As a thank you, I will let you know about the performing artist I helped because of your generosity, and I will also send you a picture of the tractor with its proud new owner (I know, exciting). Plus you get to feel great about increasing the world’s awesomeness. And if you know a singer and would like to specify who your gift helps, you can do that too. Really, what more could you want? :)
If money is raised above the $2500 goal, any additional funds will go toward building a greenhouse so that I may grow my own food, and I will continue to pay it forward in the same way. If there are still additional funds, I will create a scholarship fund for performing artists and continue to give free consulting to those with financial difficulty based on gifts received.
If you know someone who may be interested in this pay-it-forward-campaign, you can help by forwarding this to them. No contribution is too small (or big)! Thank you for your friendship and generosity - your support of me and performing artists is so appreciated!
Big Hug!
Kristina
