I volunteered one month in January-February 2013 in a small NGO in The Philippines in LapuLapu-City. During this time I met an amazing couple, Dan and Armeda, and their four children. They were incredibly kind to me, invited me to their home and looked  after me when I was sick. Despite their own hardships, they help to run a feeding program their community and always help those in need the best they can.

Unfortunately The Philippines has been devastated by Super Typhoon Hayian. Thousands of people have tragically and suddenly died and their families homes have been left in ruins. Among the people suffering from damages are my friends Armeda, Dan and their four children, the youngest of them is only 3 years old (pictured above). Part of Dan's and Armeda's house collapsed during the earthquake on 4th of November and before they could recover from this the super typhoon has done even more damage.  Armeda's family in Iloilo has completely lost their house and a fishing boat.

We can help them rebuild their home and their lives! Only a small amount is needed to help with their home and any additional money will go directly to the surrounding community for the things they need most as they work together to repair the damages.

Even the smallest contribution can help empower these people to rebuild their homes and get on with their lives as stronger and more united people. You don't need to 'dig deep', a small amount such as an hour of your salary is enough to provide a friend food for a week or purchase building supplies to get things going.
