My Story!
After nearly 3 years of battling with vocal nodules, I finally got my voice back and was able to record my first solo record that I've funded thus far through street performing and gigs.
After over coming the physical and mental challenges of nodules, I've made it my mission to never take my voice for granted and to never have regrets with my music. For me, this means sharing authentic songs and performances that enrich peoples lives and help people to feel taken care and understood.
Why am I so excited to share this album with you?
The songs on "The Blue Hour" range from contemporary folk to Indie Pop and I was fortunate to work with some amazing producers in the process including Alex Allinson from The Bridge, 3 Productions in Brooklyn, and Bassy Bob, a renowned producer from NYC. One of the songs features an amazing string quartet arrangement composed by Taylor Joshua Rankin from San Francisco. I'm very proud of this record and I've already started writing the next one.
Challenges I've Faced
Putting out on album completely on my own has been very challenging, especially while in the process of working to further strengthen my voice and get back in the lime light as a performer. I am not the type of person to compromise quality. I've $5,000 into this project at least out of my own pocket because I want this album to be something you want to listen to on repeat. That means working with the best musicians and working in a high quality studios. I'm paying for all this on an artist's salary! I quite my waitressing job about a year ago to work full time in music again. Basically I'm working on a tight musician's budget. Gotta love the artist life!
Anyway, its all worth it in the end. Thank you guys for your love and support!
