For $1750.00, they are offering any school/museum/science center the ability to operate a SPACE TELESCOPE ORBITING THE EARTH. This will help make science and technology education come alive for today’s kids and adults in a revolutionary way.
For $1750, we can provide the Maryland Science Centerwith 10 Main Optic Observations to be directed by the Staff and lucky visitors, 10 images of the visitors taken in orbit with the Earth in the background, access to a curriculum and tutorial plus quite a few other nifty items (educational poster, signed mission poster, and a 1 year membership to the Planetary Society).
Brent Spiner (Commander Data from Star Trek) has pledged for his son's highschool to have time on the telescope. The Maryland Science Center can and should have time on the ARKYD as well!
That amount is a bit much for one person to carry for a Science Center, so why don’t we split it up into a much smaller campaign on indiegogo.com. This is a totally attainable goal that will inspire The Maryland Science Center visitors to be our next generation of engineers and scientists. CAMPAIGN ENDS JUNE 30th SO PLEDGE NOW!
[Maryland Science Center] lucky visitors will get 10 Space Selfies:
Should there be enough interest, we can create a stretch goal for the $5,000.00 pledge. This would increase the number of main optic observations to 25 as well as include 30 selfies, and a full-size model of the spacecraft.
Remember that this is going toward our Science Center if we get enough funds to hit the pledge level. It’s an awesome way to expand the capabilities of the Maryland Science Center as a Maryland resident or supporter.
To be clear, all funds go to the Maryland Science Center If we make the goal, I will cover the Indiegogo fees to make the $1750 total happen!
Maryland Science Center lucky visitors will get to operate ARKYD to take 10 observations:
If we get to the $5000 level, a model of the spacecraft with pledger names featured will be made available to the Maryland Science Center.
Please pledge and SHARE with other the Maryland Science Center fans and supporters.
