Short Summary
The NYC iSchool is a small publich high school located in NYC that is dedicated to equipping students with the skills necessary for success and leadership in the 21st century. The iSchool program is designed to offer students opportunities to engage in meaningful work that has relevance to them and the world, choice and responsibility in determining their high school experience, and unique structures to support their development.
Currently, two teachers in the English department are working to develop a sustainable Theater Program. This quarter's production is of Tennessee Williams' "A Streetcar Named Desire." This campaign is important to us because the Drama students are dedicated and passionate, but can't perform these plays to the extent that they wish to on their own.
Our goal is to raise $1,000 for production and set design materials, such as PVC piping, wood, fabric, canvas, paint, brushes, hardware materials, lighting, and sound equipment.
The Impact
Your contributions will not only assist us in designing the set and costumes for "A Streetcar Named Desire," but they will help to build the foundation of the Theater Department here at NYC iSchool. Having a sustainable Theater Department will allow the students to continue to pursue Drama courses and participate in theater productions.
