About Lake Superior Village Youth and Family Center
The Youth and Family Center at Lake Superior Village is an after school and summer program serving Marquette County youth, age 5-17 and their families. The YFC at LSV is especially focused on helping at-risk youth from the Lake Superior Village Housing Development, and surrounding neighborhoods.
- Opened in 1994 offering after school programs, Just three years after opening Marquette City Police reported a 59% decrease in juvenile crime rate in the area.
- Currently 67 participants with an average of 20 students a day at no cost.
- Providing homework help, mentoring, clubs and activities for students.
- YMCA of Marquette County is current Operator of the Youth and Family Center at Lake Superior Village.
- Funding is provided through the United Way, Marquette Housing Commission, the YMCA of Marquette County and other local organizations.

By donating to this fundraiser you will know that all money raised will be used to enrich young minds and provide experiences that will last a lifetime through field trips:
- All funding will help provide transportation and meals while students attend fun and educational field trips.
- All proceeds will go directly to field trips for kids through summer activities at the Youth and Family Center at Lake Superior Village.
- Field Trips could include: Kayaking, Hiking at Moosewood Nature trail, local mine excursions, Shiras Planetarium trips and other exciting outdoor adventures.
- Any help will go a long way, the more funding the more smiles.
- Our highest donors will receive customized Tye-Dye T-shirts that will be made with the children at the Youth and Family Center.

By raising funds, students will get opportunities to enjoy and learn new experiences that may not be available otherwise:
- By providing young minds with meaningful experiences like field trips, children will learn values found in the outside world to carry through life.
- Your help will not only put a smile on their face but also fuel their imagination with amazing experiences.
- Field trips help keep children stay mentally engaged throughout the summer to help prevent the summer slide.
- Field Trips are a fun way for children to be active and step outside of their normal routine, and give them something to be excited for!
