Hey there I am Evan Allen. I have been working in film and television since 1999. I have worked in quite a few Film departments including being a Props Master, Set Decorator, Editor, Camera Operator, Editor, Short film Director, Production Assistant and Film Security. I am also a trained 3d Computer Animator. I have also been a Mentor for Film Students at the Gulf Island Film and Television School. I have worked on many blockbuster films in my career.  Barbara Allen and I are putting this campaign together to raise funds to build and equip Las Vegas Film School. This will be a Film School for youth and adults, in which we offer one and two week courses teaching you the basics of film production. By the end of your course you will complete a group or individual short film to be screened in our theater. You can then enter your films in festivals, post them online, put them on your resume or use them for entry into most University film courses.

 We need your help. This is not a cheap endeavor. We have already invested $70,000 into the school so far. $40,000.00 of it is a down payment. We have 1 full camera package with sound equipment and lighting. We have most of the equipment for the sound studio. We have the projector and big screen for the theater. We have three picture vehicles to shoot with, We have three big screen t.v.'s for the editing suites. We have a limo van for transportation to and from the airport. We have started a storage room of props. We own the name and we have all the websites. We are shopping for a location. We want to find a suitable location to convert into a school with accommodation. We have funding arranged. However, as of January 1st 2013 the government rules changed the rules for borrowing and our down payment went from 10% to 20% thus lowering what we are eligible so buy. Instead of a $400,000.00 location, we can now get something for half that amount. In short – the new rules have messed with our budget.  The school will be an ongoing expense as we upgrade and keep up with technology. We are asking for $50,000.00 in donations. Every dollar will be spent wisely and provide the best possible education that we can with what we have.

Down Payment - $20-40,000.00 more to add to the downpayment we now have.

We have been working on this idea for almost two years and one way or another way we will make it happen! We have been met with many obstacles but none of these will stop us from bringing this school to a community that needs something like this for the youth of North America. Mentors will be hired on a contract basis from within the Las Vegasarea and industry professionals from around the world.

The Impact

There is nothing like this school in Las Vegas and only a few like it in North America! There is very little for youth to do in Las Vegas. We want to change that.

I'm happy to say the Wet N' Wild themed Waterpark attraction is opening on Memorial Day 2013. Vegas is building giant Ferris Wheels and we are building a Film School for youth. We will bring jobs to the community. We will help out local businesses when we film at their locations. The students will act. The local acting community can act in the films. The local film community can only grow with our help. Of course the school will also be open to international students.

I have had former students go on to win awards from the short films. 
As a student at a similar school I also went on to win four short film awards and had one featured on a television show.
