Together we will turn on the lights
The Central
Public Library of Veria, Οur Library, despite the fact that it is located in a
small city of 58.000 people in the north of Greece, has already 31.375
registered members!
In 2010 our
library received the ‘’Access to learning,’’ Award
by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation receiving
worldwide recognition out of 350 nominations. The prize money which accompanied
the award enabled us to offer better services to our members. We installed
photovoltaic systems to conserve energy, we created the Media Lab on the 1st floor and we upgraded our technological equipment.
A
multi-functional space has been completed with the renovation of the 2nd floor
in December 2015. The whole project will be complete once the additional
equipment will be installed and hence we ask for your help to realize our
project!
This
multi-functional space will be for all of us, for you, for me, for the citizens
of Veria, the people of the greater provenance and even for all Greeks, the
artists, the creators, our children, for all the people who believe in the
power of education and the importance of a public library in a community.
The campaign is
already taking place in Greece through the site support.libver.gr and
the amount already raised has surpassed the 53% of the target. Now we would
like to ask for your help via indiegogo that allows people from all over the
world to contribute through the platform!
Thus we would
like you to make a pledge and be part of our renovation process!
Even 1 euro will make
the difference.
Together, we will
turn on the lights!
