Creating an Arts Festival

• Are you passionate about Deep Ellum and Dallas? What about music, film, art, beer, food, theater or comedy? We're passionate about all of those things and have spent the last five years planning an event that celebrates all of it, but we need your help! Deep Ellum Block Party is an indoor and outdoor walkable arts and culture festival taking place on April 17-19, 2015. There will be over 1,000 bands, visual artists, film makers, brewers, actors, dancers, comedians, authors, food vendors and more. There will be over 300 bands on more than 20 stages. All outdoor activities are free to the public, including: Brewtopia Beer Garden, The Marketplace, Kids Town, Grub Hub and a lot more! A paid wristband gives you access to all outdoor and indoor venues and showcasing artists.
  

• Who we are: A group of creatives and small business owners from the worlds of music, film, art, theater, comedy and other areas. Our founder has been working in the music industry for 14 years, booked and promoted over 100 shows in Dallas last year, and was nominated for "Best Talent Buyer" by Dallas Observer.
  

• Who we are not: We're not a large corporate booking or ticketing entity. We're just regular people with a big idea. We don't have millions of dollars for something like this, so we want to partner with you to make it happen. 

The Impact of Your Donation

• Research tells us that the economic impact for this first year on Deep Ellum and Dallas will be over $5 million. You're helping us build something that will become a staple event locally and even nationally.

What We Need & What You Get

• We need at least $50,000.
• Most of the money will go toward putting down a deposit for our biggest headlining band. We need the money for the deposit to secure the band. Once we do this, we can sign a contract, announce the band (and other bands booked) and start selling tickets. This is the biggest hurdle we have!
  
• Where else will your money go? Some of your donation will go toward other initial expenses: Logos, website design, video production, marketing and fulfillment of your rewards (like merch costs, for instance).

We realize that not everyone can contribute, but that doesn't mean you can't help. Here are some ways:

• Keep up with festival happenings by liking us on Facebook, following us on Twitter and signing up for our online newsletter (through our website).
• Spread the word about the festival and this fundraiser too. Share our pages and links on your own social networks.
  
• Sponsorships are key for us, so if you know of a business you think may be interested, please have them get in touch by emailing us at sponsor@deepellumblockparty.com.

Risks & Challenges

We value transparency, so please know that we will do our very best to meet your expectations and to fulfill your rewards quickly. Please realize that a lot of rewards will take a little time to ship out. For instance, if you order a shirt, we'll actually have to order those and wait for them to print and ship to us. Then we can ship them to you. This takes a little time, but we'll try to make it as easy for you as possible. Thanks for your patience and understanding!
