Short Summary

Every year, a group of students (such as ourselves) work together to organize the Southeastern LGBTQ+ Student Conference, an annual gathering of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, asexual, and queer students from colleges, high schools, and communities across the Southeast. The conference is a weekend jam packed with workshops, discussions, activities, social events, food, presentations, lectures, and panels all with one unified goal in mind: building LGBTQ+ community in the Southeast.

This year's conference is being hosted by students from The University of Alabama on February 21st-23rd, 2014 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We're thrilled to be hosting this meaningful event!

What We Need & What You Get

The Southeastern LGBTQ+ Student Conference is a massive undertaking. Last year's conference saw hundreds of attendees enjoying over two dozen unique events over the course of two days. What's more, last year's conference was offered with no registration fee for attendees, something we're striving to continue this year.

The reason we make it a goal to offer the conference free of charge is to broaden the scope of individuals who can attend the event as a result. This means that the entirety of our conference budget comes from grassroots fundraising such as this. We have a kick ass team of full time students working around the clock, but we can't do it without your help.

Your contribution will go directly to offsetting the cost of this year's conference: reserving space for events, booking speakers, assisting with presenters' travel costs, providing refreshments for attendees, printing programs and promotional materials, etc.

We've arranged some exciting rewards for our supporters, which you can see just to the right. Additionally, every contributor will be listed on our website

The Impact

Members of last year's conference planning committee with speakers Mandy Carter and Eli Strong.

The positive impact of the Southeastern LGBTQ+ Student Conference doesn't end after the final conference session. The hope is that the knowledge gained, conversations started, and friendships began at the conference will continue to grow and become part of the greater Southeastern LGBTQ+ community.
