Help Village Theatre Create New Music & Videos!
Currently, there are two music keyboards for three rehearsal spaces. Having less equipment than rehearsal spaces causes a chain reaction of a delayed classroom, production, and rehearsal process that costs students, Village Theatre, and artists valuable time and money. The addition of these new keyboards means that students, staff, and artists can seamlessly move from one rehearsal room to another without the need to move equipment, getting the most out of their time and resources.
Between all the rehearsals, performances, classes, and camps in KIDSTAGE alone, there can be as many as six music keyboards needed in six different locations at once. Some of these keyboards are simply digital pianos and others are programmable for performances; each fulfills a unique purpose. Over the years of use, and needed technology upgrades, it is time to add two new music keyboards (one at First Stage in Issaquah and one at The Cope Gillette Theatre in Everett) to support our unique programs for youth. An example of one benefit is that we will be able to transcribe music with the push of a button to easily place a song in the correct key and range for a young voice. This will help students feel more successful, which is crucial in a learning environment.
Productions and rehearsals can be recorded to help understudies learn their roles, directors and producers to plan and conceptualize the shows, and Village Theatre to archive the production footage.
Video Cameras Productions and rehearsals can be recorded to help give student feedback and assess growth both as individuals and as a company.
New works can be recorded for artists to accurately see each phase of the development process and effectively share it with their show collaborators (e.g., authors, composers, and directors) who cannot always be present for each phase of the development process.

About Village Theatre:
Founded in 1979, Village Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non-profit theatre with two locations: in Issaquah and Everett. Ticket sales cover only 60 percent of the cost of our productions; with another 20 percent from other earned revenues; and the remaining 20 percent comes from donations from people like you. Village Theatre's Mainstage programming consists of five shows, typically four musicals and one play. The Mainstage production musicals are drawn from both familiar repertoire and deserving, less-produced works, as well as premieres of new musicals. All are conceived by regionally and nationally accomplished artists. Other programs of Village Theatre include Village Originals and Youth Education (i.e., KIDSTAGE and Pied Piper). For further information, please visit our website at VillageTheatre.org.
Village Theatre, located in Issaquah and Everett, is registered with Washington State’s Charities Program as required by law (RCW 19.09.100). Additional information is available at 800.332.4483 or sos.wa.gov/charities.
