Luminescence Theatre Company

Luminescence is a brand new theatre company founded by three theatre-makers in December 2023 following a successful production together as part of their academic studies. The company is grounded in its core values of remaining innovative and experimental, meaning their work is not traditional, and tackles complex discussions in new and meaningful ways.

Hooves & Hope

For our first production as a professional company, we're creating an exciting theatrical experience about the Chinese water deer, a vulnerable species. They reside mostly in East Anglia and parts of Essex and Cambridgeshire and play an important role in maintaining the ecosystem of the areas they have called home.

Hooves & Hope is the name given to our project that will enable us to raise the profile of this species.

The experience will start with a short play about the mythical creature known as the peryton - part bird, part stag - before transforming into an engaging and interactive experience where the audience can get involved in the storytelling.

What We Need

We're a small company, so we're raising £500 to fund the project. Donations will go toward our set and prop design and other theatrical elements that will allow this project to meet its true potential. We believe that with your help, we can create an exciting, innovative piece of theatre that highlights the significance of the Chinese water deer.

A Charitable Impact

Once we've created the performance using the funds raised here, we will be donating a percentage of profits raised to a wildlife charity close to the Lowestoft community's heart. This donation will allow them to continue preserving vulnerable and endangered species for years to come.
