Hope Has A Name

Hi, I'm Lesa Henderson.  I came up with the concept for this film several years ago while visiting my son in a Drug Recovery Program.  While there,  we met a precious woman (who was in her 80's) who lived on the campus.  Her little cottage was filled with hardened addicts who were there to visit her and receive her encouragement, while they were going through the program. I marveled at her interaction with these men as she offered them hope and love.   Her walls were filled with countless pictures of the men and their families that she'd encouraged.  

She was an elderly widow, not famous or celebrated but she was impacting people in a powerful way.  She wasn't doing it for accolades or fame but because she wanted to help.  I wondered how many other women were in hidden places, living a life of service and giving hope to those who needed it.   

The answer to this question led me around the world to  women who have sacrificed comfort, homes, careers and much more to bring hope to the hopeless; to care for children  with special needs in China; to feed the Orphans in Mozambique; to build schools in war-torn Congo; to love the forgotten in the projects of Bartow, FL; to transform a ghetto in Jackson, MS; and to encourage and pray for the addicts in a recovery program in Lake Okeechobee, FL . They make Hope come alive – and with it the belief that we can all do something. 

My husband Ken and I believe in this so much that we've invested our own money, time, resources and talents to make it happen.  We've partnered with a brilliant cinematographer, Producer Kyle Saylors of Saylors Brothers Media Group and we are very proud of what we have so far.
