Women of the Soul Society was born out of a need for community and belonging among women of color and non-binary individuals who share a passion for anime, manga, manhwas, cosplaying, fanfiction, and nerd culture. Mainstream spaces often fail to provide a welcoming and safe environment for us, making it difficult to fully enjoy and express our love for these interests. We created this group to offer a supportive, safe space where members can connect, share, and celebrate their passions without fear of judgment or exclusion.

Hosting Hottiecon is a natural extension of our mission. We envision a large-scale event that not only provides a safe environment but also highlights the creativity and diversity within our community. Hottiecon will showcase businesses owned by women of color, offer engaging panels and workshops, provide childcare facilities, and bring together fans from all over to celebrate our shared interests. By hosting this event, we aim to create a lasting impact on the anime and nerd culture community, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background, can feel valued and included.

Hello! We are the Women of the Soul Society, an anime club for women of color (WOC) and non-binary individuals aged 21 and over. Our love for anime, manga, manhwas, cosplaying, fanfiction, and nerd culture has inspired us to create Hottiecon—the first annual anime convention dedicated to providing a safe space for WOC and non-binary folx. This event is crucial for fostering a community where everyone feels welcomed and valued. What We Need & What You Get

We aim to raise $500,000 to cover the following expenses:

Venue Rental: $100,000-300,000 for hosting the event

Staffing and Security: $30,000 for event staff and ensuring the safety of our attendees.

Equipment and Setup: $50,000 for stages, sound systems, lighting, and other essential equipment.

Insurance: $10,000 for event insurance.

Marketing and Promotion: $3,000 for spreading the word about Hottiecon.

Merchandise Production: $10,000 for exclusive Hottiecon merchandise.

Administrative Costs: $2,000 for various administrative expenses.

If we don't reach our full goal, the funds will still go towards making Hottiecon the best event possible, prioritizing essential costs like venue rental, staffing, and equipment.
