The aluminum version of the Hoverpen comes with two finishes: matte or shine. Shine glimmers in the sunlight, and has been polished to perfection-matte finish vs shine finish. Matte = treated (sandblasted to make matte finish). 

Our titanium offering comes in a smudge-resistant matte finish. Each of the 8 components of this prestigious pen have each been individually sandblasted to give the pen a high-quality, executive finish. 

Because of the design and placement of the Hoverpen's balancing technology, there is a VERY low margin for error in production. In fact, there is less than 0.1mm room for error in manufacturing the pen and the pedestal. The Hoverpen is finished at the same facility as Apple products, so you can count on top-tier, lasting quality.

Using high-precision CNC machining, with a rigorous quality control process, each Hoverpen is perfectly proportioned. For the Hoverpen to perfectly balance, there is a <0.1 mm margin for error in manufacturing, so we keep a close watch on the products and make sure each lives up to the executive-level quality Shanpo is known for. 

Each piece is either sandblasted or polished to perfection - in the same process that Apple uses to manufacture its iPhones. The base of the Hoverpen (i.e., the "pedestal") is made of high density zinc, and is coated with a rubber bottom so it stays firmly planted on your desk.
