UPDATE: We are officially stretching!

(For more info on what this means, see the FAQs at the bottom of the page). Thank you so much to those of you that helped us get here. Our stretch goal is $24,000 by January 7th, where our campaign ends. Only you can drag this thing across the finish line.

HELLO!

You have arrived at the campaign page for How to Drag a Body. Congratulations! Like you, we too believe understanding how to properly drag a body is essential to achieving complete freedom and everlasting happiness.

To assist you in your journey of self exploration, we have created a short film.

It's a dark comedy about how bad things are going to happen -- and how that's okay. It's a story about letting go, and about finding joy in the absurd. (And it really is based on a true story.)

It's a bit like if you crammed The Lobster, David Cronenberg, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, bananas, protein powder and your deepest fears and anxieties into a blender, got distracted, came back an hour later and thought "You know what? I'd still drink that."

We think you're going to love it. In fact, we'd love to tell you to stop reading and go watch it right now! Unfortunately, no one can watch the film yet as it is not finished.

Maybe you can help with that.

What's Happened So Far...

Do you have millions of dollars? Don't worry, neither do we. That's why we self-funded much of this project along with the help of a few extremely kind and generous early contributors. We're excited to say we have completed principal photography, and are in the middle of post-production! We're deeply grateful to all those who have helped get us here, and hope you will consider joining us now to drag this film into the world.

How to Drag a Body was shot August 11-13th in Elizabeth, NJ with a cast and crew of over 25 humans and approximately 3,074 flies.

WHERE YOU COME IN...

Filmmaking is a team sport and your contribution will directly fund post-production related costs such as: editing, sound mixing and mastering, color grading, scoring, VFX and more. We have a team of professional artists ready to go, and your contribution helps ensure that How to Drag a Body will be able to both compete at professional film festivals and (hopefully) have a long life afterwards.

We are excited to have a number of perks to share including digital downloads, original prints from artist Esteban del Valle, Anthony Venturini (our lead actor) and more. Take a look at the right side of this page for more info.  (Check out  this hand drawn print!)

Yeah, but I'm short on cash...

If you have taken the time to read this page and have checked out our video -- thank you! If you are interested/available to join us with a contribution -- great! If you are not able  -- you can still help!

YOU CAN:

  • Share this page wherever you share your things. (There are helpful links at the top of this page.)
  • Stay tuned into our mailing list and share with anyone you think might be interested.
  • Check out the finished film once we've released it.
  • Give us a shout and say hello! Your moral support is more than enough.

Some of the team...

How to Drag a Body was made by a passionate, experienced team of artists whose work has been shown on Amazon, NBC Universal, Netflix, AppleTV+, Hulu, Labyrinth (NYC) and Steppenwolf (Chicago) TheatersTribeca Film Festival and have won awards such as the Grand Prix Golden Lion at Cannes.

We are thrilled to be telling this story and hope it helps people laugh at the darkness that seems to be all around us.

Thank you so much for your consideration. Drag on.

Love,

-- The How to Drag a Body team
