Hi im Adam. Im an electrician by trade with a diploma in electrical engineering. I have 7 years experience in bicycle mechanics and design (recumbent specific) and 4 years experience in machining.
For the past 7 years i have been following the WHPSC (world human powered speed challenge). I am passionate about creating the most efficient means of transport possible using human power alone. This passion ties in with my love of speed and care for the environment
So far i have done everything on my own. This includes 5 years of research, one prototype bike and hundreds of hours of computer design and aerodynamics analasys. The total cost i have spent on development and research i estimate to be around 15000 AUD. The moulds alone cost 15000 AUD on top of that. I am asking for assistance in helping fund this project.
Nearly all the teams that compete have some type of sponsorship. That is normally either through a university of by a multimillion dollar company like google. I dont have any sponsors so by donating you will be helping cover the cost of materials such as carbon fibre cloth, mechanical parts like gears and pedals and eventually the shipping of the bike to america for the race.
This bike race isn't only about speed. Its about developing new technologies to make vehicles and transportation more energy efficient thereby reducing the impact on the environment. Over the past 3 years the record has increased over 7% this is purely due to technologies like 3d printing being implemented into design. These technologies have only become affordable due to demand and increased popularity. Through this project i am trying to spread awareness of renewable energies and sustainability.
If you can't afford to donate or would rather help out in other ways you can like my instagram account (hpt_falcon) or share this campaign with friends on social media. Thank you for your help.
