Humber City is set in year of 2064. The state of the U.K.
has changed considerably none more so than the city of Hull.
Technology and crime have become interweaved and the level
of corruption and fear buried deep within is at an all time high.
Our Goal?
We want to tell a unique and ambitious series, a series that aims to the
standards of Network TV without any of the restrictions that comes with it.
Presenting it exclusively on demand to the web and the festival circuit.
The first £12,500 will allow us to produce at least 2 shorts that we currently have planned.
We’re telling huge character driven stories as you would expect to find from
this genre.
Why Science Fiction?
With the exception of Doctor Who:
there are very few Science Fiction series still on the air. Unlike crime
dramas or thrillers; the realm of science fiction allows for us to
explore themes and stories in a way that will allow us to reflect on our
issues today; whilst also allowing us to consider how we can learn to
overcome or learn from the morals.
Why a Series set in Hull?
The most common question some might ask is why a series in
Hull?
Well the answer is quite simple. Regardless of its
reputation, Hull is a visually beautiful place with stunning archaic
architecture with a rich and vibrant heritage. It has limitless untapped
potential to tell some truly fascinating stories set against the Humber and the
backdrop of Hull and the East Riding.
With Hull named as City of Culture 2017, there has never
been a better time firmly establish a continuing series set within the city of
Kingston upon Hull.

How Will This Be Achieved?
Our first goal is for £12,500. £10,000 will cover our basic costs to produce 60 minutes worth of material.
The remaining will be put towards any VFX and other post-production costs.
Beyond £12,500… if we raise our goal… our extended goals
will be as follows.
£25,000 – Will allow any additional cast needs. We will be
able to step up our episode budgets allowing for increased
flexibility.
£50,000 – The productions will be able to run at full
industry costs. This will allow shooting to run much smoother with an extra 2 shorts planned.
£75,000 – Additional preparation on a fifth instalment. If
we raise this amount we can deliver even more Humber City than previously
planned.
£150,000 – Our final stretch goal. We can produce all the
shorts plus cap it off with an ambitious season finale…
