What the hell's Hurt about?
Have you seen that sketchy rock climbing film Free Solo? Well, this is that but cranked up to 11! In the years following the Oscar winning documentary, the art of climbing without a rope has grown into a glamorized endeavor. This film sheds light on when soloing is done for what might be considered the ‘wrong reasons’.
HURT is a 13min fictional drama following a special forces veteran who free solo’s recklessly as an escape when PTSD and heartbreak thrusts his mental health into decline.
In today’s climate, as personal relationships are being challenged and suicidal thoughts are at an all-time high, this film explores a veteran's non-conventional and dangerous coping mechanism.
The objective of this film is to address the risks of pushing one’s athletic limits when dealing with an unstable mind.

Director, Vincent Lapointe, is a Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue Swimmer Military Veteran turned outdoor film maker. Unfortunately, following months of shooting/editing, Vince has no more funds. But what he does have is a very particular set of skills, skills combined with industry professional friends that make NOT funding his films a nightmare for people like you. Here's just some of the members of our A Team:
1. Alexa Fay: Film Maker with two films, "Always Higher" and "Em", currently in the VIMFF and Banff World Tour Film Festival.
2. Alexa Ishikawa: The Producer and 1st AD, experienced on Netflix, Hallmark and larger sets.
3. Martin Gregus Jr: A National Geographics, Netflix and Lionsgate cinematographer.
4. Anthony Poon: A renown Vancouver editor with major projects on Netflix.

All funds will be put towards making a better film which we can all be proud of. As the production phase is complete, your donations will go towards post production and distribution:
