Short Summary

We live in a world where discrimination exists in many forms. We believe that many people who discriminate against others do so out of their ignorance. Education plays a big part in educating people to stop discrimination and encourage empathy towards people with needs that differ from ours. 

Our project is starting off with a single picture book that forms a series of 5 books featuring the inner thoughts of children with special needs. 

We hope to publish these books and have parents, teachers (or simply anybody) read and discuss what our characters go through. We hope our writing and illustrations can help people (and especially children) understand that people with special needs are precious human beings just like us. 

Through understanding why people with special needs may act differently, we hope that our readers can help others show more care towards people who may have special needs or who are just different!

Where will funds go?

We are in the process of writing, editing and illustrating the book and funds are required for these. The rest will be channeled to printing, shipping and marketing expenses. A simple list of expenditure the USD $30,000 will be used for.

Risks & Challenges

Our challenge is to get our message out there for sufficient people to know and support our project. We plan to share our work through several social media platforms and share this project as widely as possible.
