Hello Everyone!
My name is Asia Williams and I’m a senior at The Florida State University, I was 1 of 5 to be selected among 5,000 students to represent The College of Human Sciences in our International Study Abroad Program in London, England. I have been waiting to be apart of this program since my freshman year and now that I have the opportunity I'm financially unable to go. Florida Legislative has recently passed a bill that grant funding is no longer allotted for summer courses, and my first generation student grant was under the funding. The cost of tuition, books, and room and board is $6,000 and I’m only receiving $3,750 in student loans, I’ve asked close friends and family to assist me but I’m still short $2,000.
I’m extremely active in the Tallahassee community. I’ve helped raised over $3,000 to assist with HIV/AIDS research and treatment on a local and national level through my Sorority Sigma Gamma Rho, and started my Chapters first annual Scholarship Pageant that honors outstanding young men that are making a difference on a collegiate and local level.
I’m passionate about serving others and educating our youth and have goals of becoming a high school counselor to empower students to seek higher education. I’m asking you to look deep in your heart and even deeper in your wallet to assist me in this opportunity. ANY donations will be truly appreciated and if you are unable to assist me financially, spreading the word about this campaign and your heart felt prayers are ALWAYS welcomed!
Thank you so much and God bless!
