The Project
I am an artist. I have been working in NYC since the 1970's. Art has always been my way of communicating whether it is in film or sculpture, as public art or in galleries. I love what I do. Different times call for different methods.
Gathering together for in-person cultural activities these days is almost impossible. I Heart is a video animation about birds on a 2-minute loop. These birds are a metaphor for us. I Heart is a movie about life in full color. It's a truly pleasurable viewing experience that will be shown outside in a setting where people can watch it......together. We are planning to project I Heart during the month of December when it gets dark early. It is also holiday season. People will be shopping and going to or coming back from work. Honestly we want to add to the joy of being out and about during a year of very trying times. So we are going to bring I Heart all over town, guerilla style. It is our way to give back in the best way we know how right now.
Through your contributions we can get this done. We are asking for $2000 to finish so we can get our project rolling. I am not an animator and have hired someone with expertise. A contribution toward this cost would be very helpful. We have been organizing the tools to go out into the city portably. A contribution toward the projector, the long lasting battery to fuel it and the efficient rig that will take everything on the subway would also be greatly appreciated. These are the costs. I am completely game for funding a chunk of this myself. And help with a final push would be a tremendous boost to the project. This is not a profit making enterprise. It is designed for healing and good will.
We are offering gifts at different levels. We have I Heart Buttons for $10 or more. There are handmade origami blue birds made from rice paper at $20 or more. And at the higher giving levels of $100 or more there is a hand painted bird made of many... on black parchment paper. These are all kind of nice to have around the holidays.
