YOUR NEWEST UPDATE - JUNE 24th, 2011
'In The Waking Stillness' had an amazing shoot! We spent one day at Newhaven Funerals, two days in Coulson at a beautiful farm, and two days inside a house in Southbank, Brisbane. With the help of 20 extras, some incredible location owners, the Boonah Fire Brigade, Volunteer Crew Members, and our talented actors we were able to finish our shoot in five days with reasonable hours of sleep each night.
As of today, our film was sent to Cinevex Film Lab in Melbourne for processing. We're one step closer to being able to sit down at watch the footage before beginning the editing process. Everyone on the team is excited to see our hard work come together and we can't wait to share some clips or a trailer on IndieGoGo and Facebook.
Please check out our Facebook page for production stills and more updates!

OUR FILM:
'In the Waking Stillness' is a film about loss and guilt, set against the backdrop of the Australian farming community. It is the story of Evan and Rose, a farming couple, dealing with grief and guilt in the wake of the accidental death of their son Jacob. Evan blames himself for the accident and as the guilt overcomes him he begins to drift away from Rose. Rose needs Evan to move on in order to save their relationship.
It is a film that deals with relationships, love, grief and guilt. It explores how we as humans deal with tragedy in different ways, and this can cause conflict in the worst of times.
The film will be shot entirely on 35mm film.
OUR STORY:
At Griffith Film School we are all about creating genuine films that we feel a strong connection to. 'In the Waking Stillness' is our graduate film and we are putting all our time, energy, and passion into creating the best film we possibly can. This will be a stepping stone into the industry for many of us and we want to show what we are capable of after three years of honing our skills in order to tell a story through a visual medium.
We are planning to send the film to international film festivals and we are hoping that it will become a calling card for everyone involved in its creation.
OUR KEY CREW:

Director/Co-Writer - Joshua
Cornelissen-Birch Co-Writer - Simon Taylor
1st Assistant Director - Ashleigh Doss

WHAT WE NEED AND WHAT YOU GET:
We've already raised a significant amount of money through our crew (we ALL have a stake in this) and we're looking for the remaining $3,000 to go towards production fees and international film festivals. Some production fees include Wardrobe, Props, Location, and Safety ($500.00 per Day when needed). The money we raise through IndieGOGO will help cover the remaining production costs at the end of the day as well as helping us get into Film Festivals. Each festival has an 'entry' fee and shipping adds up quite a bit. We want this to be seen by others and for our hard work to be recognized.
OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP:
Send this to friends and family! Please, spread the word as much as possible! We will be posting our website link here when it is up and running but until then you can find us on Facebook! Again, any little amount will help us greatly! And word of mouth is absolutely incredible when trying to be heard!
