Short Summary
We have a brand new album! Our 4th studio album 'In The West' has been a couple of years in the making but it's written, recorded, mixed, mastered and ready to be turned into something real life. We're sure proud of this one and we hope you all dig it!
This will be the first album of ours that is made up of almost entirely original material. Over the last few years we've been writing a lot of songs and fiddle tunes, all inspired by the traditional music that we love so much. While it is primarily a duo album, we were lucky enough to be joined by some incredible musicians to help us round out the sound that emerged. The legendary Rick Epping graced us with his soulful concertina and harmonica on three tracks. Our dear friends and fellow full-band Horsenecks Brian Bagdonas and Kevin Sandri helped out on a few tunes with their inimitable rhythm power section. Our good pals Luke Ydstie and Kati Claborn from The Hackles added lots of different parts on a variety of different instruments that helped make the pieces into a cohesive whole. We recorded it over the course of a couple of weeks in March, 2023 at The Rope Room studio in Astoria, Oregon with Kati Claborn as our engineer, juggling our toddler and taking turns running out for coffee, sandwiches, gourd banjos and beer. We sent it off to be mixed and mastered by Joe Dejarnette at studio 808A. It will be released on Tiki Parlor Recordings. The end product is something deeply personal that we hope you enjoy listening to as much as we enjoyed making it.
SO! We could use some help with the final push of getting it manufactured and set free to the world. If you're interested in this album, buying it on pre-order would be so, so helpful to us. If you don't buy physical albums but want to support this project, maybe consider making a donation to match the price of a CD and then enjoy streaming it guilt-free:)
Since we almost immediately sold out of the vinyl we had pressed of our last album, we will be getting more pressed of the new one, as well as CDs of course.
We're hoping to raise $15,000 to cover part of the multitude of costs an endeavor like this racks up.
In gratitude,
Gabrielle and Barry
