What We Need & What You Get
As a student film team, we are restricted dramatically by budget, and this film has been written with that in mind. The Director has taken steps to be able to fund as much of this production as possible himself (a lengthy and hardworking endeavour). However, there are some things we would like to be able to pay for that go beyond personal funding:
- costume for the characters (including contact lenses, which are very expensive)
- travel, food, and production costs
- rental for sets we are using
- entry costs for festivals
You will receive (depending on donation) a digital copy of the film (always) and an executive producer credit on the film (for donations at £50+). We will also keep you updated on the progress of the film to festivals, and any awards it may win.
The Impact
This film covers many different issues facing our world today, including climate change, urban alienation, the human cost of crime, broken families, and unconventional bonds. It also is a film written with complex and multi-faceted characters, not simply heroes and villains. It is also designed to entertain as well as challenge, with a focus on pace and dialogue only when absolutely necessary. We feel this film will grab your attention, and not disappoint in the ways many short films often do.
Risks & Challenges
As the Director is funding the majority of this film himself, any failures or problems in the production will likely impact him personally, and this is part of the reason for this fundraiser.
However there are creative challenges in this production also; this is the first over 10 minute, full crew drama the Director and team have produced, and as the final project for the Director's MA degree, has high stakes for him. As a film that deals with difficult topics, it will require the entire teams skills to succeed.
Other Ways You Can Help
Some people just can't contribute, but that doesn't mean they can't help:
Please share this project with anybody you think may be interested, or you have known to be generous with small amounts of money in the past.
And that's all there is to it.
Thank you!
