Most phone cases are made of cheap plastic that looks ugly and degrades over time. This is the 21st century, we decided to make a case that keeps up with the times.
What makes this case unique?
Our carbon fiber phone cases are molded from individual layers of carbon fiber cloth layered in high strength epoxy, the same way car parts are molded for high performance supercars like the Lamborghini Gallardo. This will be the last case you'll ever need.
Drop Protection:
Most phone cases are bulky, heavy, and ugly because companies have to sacrifice looks for drop protection. When a material like 100% carbon fiber is used, cases can be strong without sacrificing looks.
Featherlight:
We wanted to make the case thin enough to show off the iPhone's sleek curved looks, but thick enough to protect it from day to day use. We made the case .7mm thick, just enough to give function and form.
Dimensions:
Our cases are made from layered carbon fiber cloth hardened with aerospace grade epoxy, and the edges are chamfered to make them smooth and aesthetically pleasing.
It measures:
Thickness: .7mm
Weight: 8g
Reward Levels:
We kept this simple:
$39 gets you the iPhone 6s Version
$49 gets you the iPhone 6s+ Version
Why $1200?
We are asking for $1200 because we wan to provide the high quality products without overburdening our customers with high costs. The $1200 will go to the initial run of cases. This will include tooling costs and the minimum production order. We have already created a relationship with the manufacturer and they are ready to start manufacturing.
Risks and challenges
Carbon fiber has sought after strength properties, but its also good at blocking radiation, including cell and wifi signal. We initially thought that the case would block cellular function, however upon testing, we were fortunate to see that no measurable signal loss occurred.
TIMELINE January 2016- Packaging and assembling in the USA February 2016- Shipping the cases to our supporters March 2016- Second, larger run and launch of the web store
