About
$6000-$7000 is needed for the time and cost of
making the latest record, and the aforementioned professional expenses.
About
Izzy, in her words:
I am a veteran of the music world,
and have been putting out records of many genres since the early 90's, starting
in Canada from 1994-2002, and continuing my work the US from 2002-2014.
I spent my youth in church choirs,
mosh pits, trains, racetracks, nuthouses, hospitals and flop houses. I spent
many hours dreaming about the life I am living today, and the music & art
that evolved over the years.
The life I have lived has been harsh
and gritty, but it only made me stronger- to be the artist I am today. For the
past 20+ years, I have been a hand-to-mouth artist. I have been very fortunate
to play with 1000's of bands and musicians, and have had singles, released/
been in films, interactive performances on the internet, had art in galleries,
and have performed in castles, haunted hotels, cabaret, theater spaces,
churches, monasteries, trains, cars, boats, on train tracks, at house
shows, motorcycle houses, barn parties, farmers markets, art galleries, bars,
pubs, open mics, cafes, hills, tents, festivals, trucks, truck beds, tree
houses, sidewalks...the list goes on.
I have always had a DIY approach, having had many
glorious and heart breaking experiences in the music industry. I have battled
with mental illness and alcoholism throughout my career, and have had many
great people influence my life- from musicians, artists, poets and preachers,
to healers, train kids, movie makers, comedians, actors, dancers, designers, royals,
witch doctors.
My musical community spans around the world, and I have toured the US 8 times over, New York to
California, most of England and Australia, Montreal, Toronto.
Through economic recessions in both Canada and the
US, I have become a stronger artist, a better songwriter, and a better performer.
I have always had to be prepared for almost any situation.
About 6 years ago, I became a one woman band-
mostly on tour- learning how to play kick-drum, and play and sing standing up. Currently on my 20th musical
release, which has been produced by my peers, I’ve also recently been featured
on the Farmageddon 2012 record.
Like-minded artists and festivals have been very supportive
for touring and giving me exposure, over the past 12 years. For my latest CD,
“Ballads for the Nearly Departed, I have been signed, recorded and produced by
Kurtis D Machler from Monkey Boy
Records, a boutique label (Million Dollar Sound) and Gary Lindsy from Assjack and Black
Eyed Vermillion. They graciously paid for upfront costs to record, mixing, mastering,
production, organization, space and additional instrumentation.
I have had many residencies, in Austin, at well
known from venues such as the Continental Club, to the legendary punk venues Headhunters, Beerland, Legendary White Swan, Trophy's, and Ego's. I have new ones at hole in the wall and the newly opened Badlands. I have also performed with over 100+ of burlesque and sideshow
troops,
Having the necessary funds will give me the ability
to get back on my feet, after losing my steady performing gig in Austin as a
musical act featured 3 times a week, in headlining and happy hour gigs, let me
take the time to record 2 new records with collaborations, become a well-equipped
record label and artist to connect with the fans and philanthropists to have
something tangible. This fundraiser will also help me keep me stocked as a
signed artist and independent record label thru 2015.
