Short Summary

 

I believe most parents have at one point had to deal with their child leaving home with a jacket and not coming back with one. Children of all ages don’t want to carry, wear, or stuff a jacket into to their backpack in the compartment where the books and papers are. This makes it easy for them to lose or leave the jacket behind.

We as parents want the best for our children and look out for them best we can, high school and college are no exception. One day after talking to some other parents, we agreed, that we want the security of knowing our children has their jacket on hand if they need it, in case the weather or temperature changes while they are away from home. That is what led me to invent this stylish 2 in 1 backpack. A backpack that comes with and attached, detachable jacket stored in its own compartment on the backside of the backpack.

This would also be so convenient for people with disabilities. Having a disability myself, I’m familiar with not wanting to carry anything extra, but needing to keep up with what I do carry with me. This clever backpack gives us two important items used by many when they leave the house, a jacket and backpack together. 

This campaign is important to my family, friends, and I because so much was sacrificed and we believe in the good it will be for students, hikers, couriers, people who walk, ride bikes, travel by city buses, and more. I am fortunate to be able to now devote the time and energy needed to pursue our dreams of seeing the Jacket and Backpack Assembly on the market.

• With your contributions I will be able to get a prototype, some samples made, and attend at least one trade show. I will use any money left for any other business expenses.

What We Need & What You Get

• The funding of $30,000 will secure a manufacture to make a quality jacket and backpack Assembly and samples. It will also pay for me attending at least on trade show, and other business expenses.
• Though all donations in any amount are greatly appreciated, a sample of the Jacket and Backpack Assembly will be given to anyone who donates $150.00 or more. 
• If we do not reach our goal we will start with what comes first, and that is securing a manufacturer that can have a prototype and samples made. Next get a business plan finished to go pitch to investors. We will proceed from there stretching the dollars as far as possible.

The Impact

• The Jacket and Backpack Assembly is valuable to anyone who knows what it is like to want to have a jacket on hand but don't want to wear, carry, or stuff it in your backpack, taking up valuable room in the main compartment. Together we will finally solve a problem that has troubled backpack wearers for years.

Risks & Challenges

Some things that will help me over come risks and obstacles I may face on the way to achieving my goal:

• The patent will give me some security with getting it out. 
• Being counseled helps keep me stay on track, provides me with important information, and gives me support.
