PHOBOS is a lighthearted comedy hinting at heavy themes that will intensify as the story progresses.  If you like the tone of The Munsters or The Adams Family then you will love PHOBOS!

PHOBOS is a project very close to my heart. I created it over 25 years ago before ever making a dime from my art. I've completely redrawn and rewritten the whole story several times and I am happy to finally be able to present the final epic version! 

This first volume is 304 pages long with beautiful atmospheric artwork splashing across each page as the story dances playfully with the classic horror mythos. Just check out some of the pages!

Although Phobos has classic horror elements, there is no profanity, nudity or gore. It would have the movie rating of PG. 

The art is 95% finished. The next step is to finish all the lettering to give it a unique flavor and feel. I'll be preparing the files in InDesign while the campaign is active and my goal is to get everything to my American printer by November.

This time I want to give myself some wiggle room with the schedule because I expect some delays due to Covid complications and so I am putting the fulfillment date at February of 2021. But I hope to deliver way before that time. 

It usually costs me about $12,000 to $15,000 to print a high quality book like this. Plus Indiegogo fees, taxes, credit card fees and refunds end up taking about 20% or more of the money raised. I also owe money to my editor, coloring assistant and letterer.

And so to give myself a risk buffer (in light of Covid delays and unexpected service fees) I need to raise $25,000 to ensure that I can meet all the expectations, pay everyone involved and deliver on my promises without having to find freelance work to cover anything.

If I don't reach this goal then you will be refunded and the books will not go to print. But I am confident that we can easily make this happen.

We will be printing in the USA for this one and so the printing timeframe should be much quicker than my previous campaigns when I printed in China. I have selected an amazing American printer who has a great track record with high quality graphic novel production and so I know you will love what you get in the mail. 

Jason Brubaker worked as a professional Storyboard Artist, Animator and Visual Development Artist in Hollywood for 20 years on movies like Blade, Van Helsing, Pitch Black, and the Kung Fu Panda Trilogy.
