“Wherever you go..., you'll see Heaven and Hell on every side... in us.
Look for them and you'll soon know them. There on your left, Hell
shuffles by, carrying a reluctant, gloomy chicken, his only comrade.
There on your right, Heaven spring past, singing - a lunatic, a little
too much for civilized contact.
Just the way it always was.”
― Daniel Quinn,
A Father and Son
Jellyfish tells the story of a father and son, love and loss. Only one thing in life is certain and that's death. Our film will show you the emotional roller coaster of a father as he comes face to face with death. Only death now has a new face in the form of his recently deceased son.
During our life we all suffer loss and grieve in our way. This is our personal take on one mans journey. We want to make this film because no matter who you are, what you do, where you're from. We all suffer loss and we all grieve. Everyone can relate to it.
This piece is intended
to be a very surreal and meaningful film that will ask questions about love, life, death,
religion, loneliness, and loss . Symbolism also plays a big part in this film. (When you watch the film you'll see how the title "Jellyfish" fits in perfectly)
Luke is a young but accomplished film maker in his own right already, directing numerous short films, documentaries, working with industry greats such as David S. Goyer (Dark Knight, Man of Steel) and legendary welsh actor/writer Boyd Clack (High Hopes, Satellite city) In 2013/14 won two BBC awards for his work on their "Made in Wales" Series and featured in a BBC2 Documentary while he achieved the awards.
Richard is very accomplished actor with many credits to his name, some of these include Sherlock, Atlantis, Casualty, Pride, Da Vinic's Demons and Ancient Impossible: Ancient Einsteins and Gunpowder 5/11. Even scooping an award at the Cardiff Mini Film Festival. Not only that he's also a very accomplished script writer! (leave some jobs for others aye!) We're really happy that we have Richard on board with this project, the commitment and enthusiasm he's shown already is astounding and can't wait to get back onto set with him!
But now let's have a look at the rest of the team!

Why Fund us?!
If you've seen the pledge video, then you would have seen the pilot project for this film. We made that on a shoe string budget literally consisting of £10 and that's actually not a lie!
Our aim is to make something beautiful. memorable and thought provoking. Now if we managed to pull the pilot out for £10 imagine what we could do with a proper budget! We can create this dream like world of purgatory, immerse the characters and make something visually striking but yet moving.
As you've probably read by now and heard. Jellyfish is set on a beach... Yet as you've probably seen the pilot was shot ontop of a wet (albeit sunny) mountain. The locations we actually have in mind and want to use for the film are Southern Down Beach and Merthyr Mawr sand dunes (Any Dr Who fans will know where I mean! *cough* Bad Wolf Bay Cough*) But due to budgetary and weather constraints we had to enforce plan b!
Getting the cast and crew back and forth to location is an issue we hope this funding will help resolve!
Another factor is equipment, we managed the pilot on one DSLR a broken tripod and a shoulder rig off ebay. For the full film we want to be able to use the landscape. Do it and the story justice, show wales off aswell! It's a beautiful location and be a shame to let it go waste.
Now I shall shut up (first time for everything! ask my crew!) and let you see where you're funding will go!

I want to help but I can't contribute!?
Fear not my friend! There are other ways you can help! For example social media!
Everyone who's anyone has a social media account now days! (I think even my pug has an facebook account!) So if you can't contribute then give us a share on facebook/twitter/myspace! (Ok maybe not the last one?) and tell your friends about us! That would mean the absolute world to all of us working on this!
Thank you so much! And if you actually read all of this well done!
