'Journey to Yes' was originally intended as a short 5 (extended to 10) part one-off series exploring the compelling stories of people who have moved from No to Yes on the question of Scottish independence.  The aim of the series wasn't simply to persuade people to vote for independence but also to gather valuable feedback to improve the campaign for Yes. A further goal was to reframe the 2014 debate, removing barriers for people reconsidering their vote and celebrating people moving to Yes. There has been huge response to the series across the political spectrum and Journey can be a powerful campaigning tool for #GE17 and #ScotRef.. Many people have been coming forward wishing to share their story and we have some very exciting episodes planned. With your support, we can continue the journey and reach our ultimate destination: Yes.

Phantom Power have been filming for a number of years. We specialise in high quality production on micro-budgets and our work regularly appears on Wings Over Scotland, Bella Caledonia, Newsnet, IndyRef2, Wee Ginger Dug and other pro-independence outlets. We have produced documentaries such as Gallery of Rogues, Altered States and much more. We are also currently running our politics/culture series PERSPECTIVE.

We have put a lot of thought into how to improve the content and reach of the new Journey to Yes series. We will begin the next series throughout the campaign and General Election 2017.

• 30 Episodes. There is no shortage of fascinating Journey to Yes stories out there waiting to be captured and shared. We will produce relentlessly inspiring stories in 3 runs of 10 episodes that will infuriate No strategists right into 2018.
• Rebooted. We have freshened up the look and sound with a new design from master of motion graphics, Fraser Croall whose sharp 'highway' animation sets the scene for each new story perfectly and is branded with our original Phantom Power logo designed by the superb Stewart Bremner - the sign of quality independent film!
• Views across Scotland and the UK. The first series concentrated on mainly central belt Scotland and it's vital that we cover the views across the UK to reach wider audiences and touch on a broader variety of local issues. There are people outside Scotland keen to share their views on independence and we also want to include this outward looking approach. 
• Sectors. We will be looking at key sectors in Scotland including figures in agriculture, biotech, finance, education, food and drink who, in light of the huge economic impact of the Tories' hard Brexit, now see Yes as the way forward. Focusing on sectors will also be a vital way of reaching crossover audiences.
• Live Screenings. We will be running a number of live events throughout Scotland with exclusive screenings, meet those behind the camera and people featured in the series as well as share views and feedback.

We are seeking £17K to achieve this project. In the main, this is about creating the time to dedicate to a project that, we believe, will add significant punch to the Yes campaign. Funding also allows us to continue to make the content free and accessible to all pro-indy outlets and reach the widest possible audience. The funds will be used in the following ways:

• Harddrives - the projects use a lot of storage and we would expect to spend around £6-700 on this including doubling up on back-up drives
• Travel - we will be doing a lot of mileage to gather the range of views we are looking for from around Scotland and the UK. £1200
• Sound equipment. We've destroyed various mics in the past year and your backing will help us upgrade the sound quality on the films. Mics £300
• Filming. We have HD and 4K cameras we can borrow. Gathering the necessary footage for 30 films will take an estimated 40 days/2 months across 2017. £6K
• Post-Production. We have an edit suite made generously on loan. Each film takes around 1-2 days to edit and mix. Allow 60 days/3 months across the year. £7K
• Screenings. Venue hire, travel expenses, projector/sound hire for up to 10 live events. Allow £1200.

There are a number of tasty perks to suit all comers from downloads, production credits and badges. If we don't reach our goal, the scope of the project will be reduced to one or two series. Series 2 will begin on May 11th 2017.
