KAMEN AMERICA is the ongoing story about aspiring fashion designer Charlotte "Carly" Vanders, who finds herself thrust into a world of monster-fighting and heroics, all the while having to contend with media hounds, unscrupulous profiteers, and the struggles of maintaining some semblance of a private life. An unexpected sleeper hit that debuted in the spring of 2020, KAMEN AMERICA, Volume 1 raised more than 900% over its initial funding goal between Kickstarter and IndieGoGo and is slated to debut in retail stores (in a shortened format) courtesy of Antarctic Press this fall.

KAMEN AMERICA, Volume 2: The Founding Fighters takes place almost a year after the events of the first volume and months after the tie-in story featured in BLACK HOPS, Volume 3: Hopocalypse Now.

After turning down her future prospects with her media rep, Carly is working tirelessly to promote herself while suffering a daily barrage of media smear pieces. Monster appearances have not ended and the mystery of who's behind all of it still remains. Fortunately, this time she's joined by former foe Misha Lovacova, who now goes by the name Kamen Comet. Things get complicated really quickly when Carly's former agent, Niro Lansky, joins forces the mysterious woman behind the monster attacks: Vermillion Masquerade! And if that wasn't enough, a rival from Carly's past shows up to complicate things even further!

A few twists and turns present themselves as the cast and world of KAMEN AMERICA continues to expand! We know that you'll find that this second volume truly bests our previous work in terms of storytelling, art, and craft!

WE ARE 100% COMPLETE! Since last year, we have made it a point to only go live with our pre-orders once the book is fully finished: for IndieGoGo, you have the extra bonus of already having a fully-printed book since we launch our pre-orders after having successfully funded on Kickstarter.

While some industry professionals are consistently late on their crowdfunded books due to a combination of unrealistic expectations, poor time management, and/or prioritization of other dealings, every member of our creative effort comes from a business management world, where it is crucial for us to deliver a quality book, on time, as promised. We offer a small number of reward tiers to accommodate a variety of tastes and budgets while keeping it lean enough for an easy fulfillment. IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING FULFILLMENT:

We pride ourselves on 2 years of successful crowdfunding and shipping in a timely manner: all of our books between 2019 and 2020 were delivered either a month early or on-time. However, the unique system by which crowdfunding operates necessitates some personal policies to protect both you, the reader, and us the creators:

• Digital PDFs are TIME SENSITIVE, sent within 24 hours of receiving funding from IndieGoGo, which is usually 4-10 days after the campaign ends. These files are sent via WeTransfer links, which expire after 7 days. Due to our busy schedules, we will be strongly enforcing this. We are not responsible for backers who do not download our files: we have to be able to focus on other work without taking time out of our day to resend huge files to delinquent backers.
• Physical books will be replaced if our tracking data shows that the parcel has not arrived within a reasonable period of time, or if significant damage was done to the books in transit. However, we are not responsible for book inquiries 3 months after the ship date. After 3 months, USPS will typically scrub tracking data. We cannot be dealing with shipping inquiries 6 months, a year, 2 years after the shipping date: that is not fair to us, nor is it fair to backers who have been monitoring the status of their orders. The onus of responsibility must fall on the customer to keep up with our updates regarding shipping schedules and other inquiries.

Risks and challenges

With 2 years of successful, on-time crowdfunding under our belt, we can guarantee a Fall 2020 fulfillment on or ahead of time. The book is 100% complete and funded on Kickstarter previously, meaning that all we need to do is go to print!
