Short Summary
Evelyn Singer, a transgender woman from Tennessee with a passion for filmmaking, will be making her producing debut with the following short film:
The film is about a female pickpocketer who makes a living by going around to different places in NYC. She walks into this beautiful speakeasy and decides to target the bartender. She ends up having her work cut out for her because as she takes something from him, he's able to slip something from her.
What We Need & What You Get
My goal is to get our funding to 1500 dollars. This will fund our costumes, our craft services (aka snacks), meals for our crew members, and if we have any funds left, hopefully get our film to festival submissions! If we do not reach our goal, the money will still mainly be used to feed our cast and crew, and if we go over the budget, then whatever is left to use in post production will be used to get our film to the festival circuit.
*What you will receive by donating is a special thanks in the end credits of our film as well as a thank you note from me and the director! There are other things you can receive by donating a bit more, with one of those things being an EXECUTIVE PRODUCER CREDIT and a KARMA STICKER in the mail!
The Impact
As a first time producer, this project for me is like my baby, and I'm very excited to see where this path can take me. Not only am I, a trans woman, the producer, but the director is a woman too, and it's not often that we see women and gender non-conforming people in creative leadership positions, so you'd be supporting women in film!
Risks & Challenges
I understand the risk of donating money into a film because there's never guaranteed success.
While I am a first time producer, this is definitely not my first time working in film. For many films, I have script supervised as well as have done cinematography, so I do have a good grip on the craft and the industry as a whole.
Other Ways You Can Help
Of course, if you're not in a position to help, I urge you to share this with your friends and anyone who might be interested in helping us fund this project! Thank you so much!
