Designing the Kegr Tap

We’ve spent a lot of time and effort making the Kegr tap: designing, prototyping, testing, and engineering. Through the help of our manufacturing advisors, we’ve now completed a top-to-bottom review of our design and final prototype.

We learned a lot from our latest prototype version and we’re working on updates and improvements for full production including but not limited to:

• Modifying the interior layout to better hold the internal components and save on material
• Changing the exterior casing material from epoxy to plastic for injection molding, all while keeping its iconic red cup design
• Revising circuit board layout and electronic components based on manufacturer feedback

Team  

From the Long Island backyard party scene, these lifelong friends knew that their tech skills could come up with a better solution. Eric, Tony, Michael and Steven worked together through basement workshops, patent applications, 3D printing, hand soldering, and lots of beer puns, in order to successfully demonstrate the first prototype run of the Kegr. We have professional engineering, product, and business experience, and are ready to expand operations to a bigger scale.

But we aren’t doing this alone. We’ve partnered up with multiple business and product development teams to get the Kegr validated and ready for production. Fuzehub, NYSTAR, and MTRC have provided valuable business development consulting and funding for our prototyping stage. MTEC has been integral in bringing our prototype from its current state to full scale manufacturing ready.
