KEYCHARGE is a reserve battery keychain.

Our Story
We first came up with the idea for KEYCHARGE when we couldn't find a backup charger for our smartphones that was compact, smart, simple, and elegant enough for everyday use. Everything that was on the market was too large to conveniently take with you everywhere.
We wanted to create something that you wouldn't have to worry about forgetting, a true back-up juice pack that you would always be able to have on you all the time. This was when we first started sketching a design for KEYCHARGE and also started looking for a suitable battery that was small enough to fit in a keychain unit and give smartphones true extended battery life. We tested 800-1200mAh batteries and finally decided on 1000mAh battery because it gave us the perfect balance of battery life and design flexibility for the keychain unit.
Through several iterations of sketch prototypes and testing with an experienced manufacturer we now have a production ready model that we are very happy with and ready to deliver to you.

Our Plan
We are now ready to bring you KEYCHARGE. After thorough testing and quality inspection of numerous prototypes. We now have our production-ready models ready. There are however a few key steps we need to take to deliver KEYCHARGE.
With your help, we need to:
Prior to launch
- Market research
- Established manufacturing partners in China
- Completed IC board design and testing with engineering company
- Lithium ion polymer battery selection with battery manufacturer
- Mold (shell) design and fabrication
- General product testing
- Ensure proper regulations are met for air transportation
During campaign (November 2014 to December 2014)
- Raw materials procurement
- Production planning
- Work with FedEx on importation process into U.S.and Canada
- FedEx to work with manufacturer to ensure safe shipment of lithium-ion batteries.
After the campaign (January 2015 to March 2015)
- Manufacturing of the Keycharge.
- Product inspection by third party company at manufacturer
- Pre-shipment inspection by Fedex at manufacturer
- FedEx Express product pickup in China and air transport delivery to our office.
- Shipment of rewards to our backers.

Q. How does it work?
A. You charge the KEYCHARGE by plugging the USB connector it into your computer or wall charger. As and when you need, plug your KEYCHARGE using either a lightning connector/micro USB into your smartphone or USB device and begin charging.
Q. How long does the battery last?
A. The rechargeable battery lasts up to 20 days.
Q. How do I choose the connector type for my KEYCHARGE?
A. At the end of the campaign, we will contact all contributors and you will be able to verify your connector preference
Q. Do I add the international shipping fee to the contribution amount or is it charged later?
A. Please add the 10 USD shipping fee to your contribution total when you select a perk.
Q. Can I use it to charge my phone from a laptop?
A. Yes. You can Sync-and-Charge which means you will be able to sync your smartphone while charging it simultaneously.
Q. How many charge cycles do you get?
A. The KEYCHARGE will be rechargeable for over 500 cycles (These are full cycles. Partial cycles don't count as full. So, you can charge your KEYCHARGE 10% of the way 10 times before it counts as a complete cycle.)
