KIDDO 'SHORT FILM'
Written and Directed by Jarrett Austin Brown
KIDDO is the story of a teenaged group of orphaned friends that discusses the difference between loyalty and blood. Following the loss of his mother, Bobby finds himself searching for new avenues to make money to support his younger brother, and along the way, he joins a group of orphaned kids in scamming goods to locals. Once Quincy finds out, rather than leaving the streets to consume his brother, he joins in attempt to keep Bobby safe... bringing himself into harms way.
Why Now?
Art exists to make you feel something while at the same time allowing yourself to escape momentarily from the real world. With the current climate of the society, I feel that many have been searching for peace of mind. Therefore while the world has stopped, I have not! Constantly creating and seeking new avenues to light up the faces of viewers, open their hearts to new emotions and challenge their brains to new ideas.
Aside from creating an escape for viewers, due to a lack of work, I also would love to present an opportunity for people of the arts to express themselves, whether they be actors, cinematographers, costume/set designers, editors etc.
What We Need & What You Get
I began writing this short film over a year ago and now have entered pre-production. The current goal is set to $10,000 which would go towards booking out locations, paying cast and crew, equipment and other necessities required in pre-production as well as post-production (i.e. film festival entries, production catering, production transportation etc.).
As I am aware of the current financial struggles many are having, I completely understand if you choose not to donate but I’d appreciate a share! As for donators, all donations above $100.00 will receive a "Thank You" credit at the end of the film. Thank you all and I hope everyone is well and safe!
