THE STORY The first complete broadcast documentary to tell the life story of baseball great, Harmon Clayton Killebrew, one of the most prolific home run hitters in the history of major league baseball. During his 22-year career in the Majors, Killebrew was an acclaimed power hitter who, at the time of his retirement, was second only to Babe Ruth in AL home runs. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984. During the 1960’s Killebrew hit 40 home runs in a season, eight times. His finest season was 1969, when he hit 49 home runs and recorded 140 RBIs. Killebrew led the league six times in home runs and three times in RBIs, and was named to eleven All-Star teams.

Harmon's Stats alone are staggering – 573 Home Runs, ranking 11th in League history; eight seasons of hitting 40 or more home runs, ranking third in all-time home run frequency behind Babe Ruth and Ralph Kiner. Killebrew hit 1,584 RBIs, was voted MVP in 1969, and is enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. In addition to being one of the great players of all time, he was considered one of the nicest people ever to play the game.

"The Killer was one of the most feared sluggers in baseball history, but he was also one of the nicest people ever to play the game. He was one of the few players who would go out of his way to compliment umpires on a good job, even if their calls went against him." Ron Luciano, umpire

In 1976, Harmon announced his retirement and founded the Harmon Killebrew Foundation, which has donated more than $ 8.6 million to cancer research. In December 2010, Killebrew was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and began treatment, but in May 2011 he ceased treatment and entered hospice care. For the rest of the season, the Twins wore their 1961 throwback jerseys in his honor. Harmon Killebrew died on May 17, 2011 a month short of his 75th birthday.

'No individual has ever meant more to the Minnesota Twins organization and millions of fans across Twins Territory than Harmon Killebrew. Harmon will long be remembered as one of the most prolific home run hitters in the history of the game and the leader of a group of players who helped lay the foundation for the long-term success of the Twins franchise and Major League Baseball in the Upper Midwest. However, more importantly Harmon's legacy will be the class, dignity and humility he demonstrated each and every day as a Hall of Fame-quality husband, father, friend, teammate and man." Minnesota Twins President Dave St. Peter

What We Need
We need your support for the film's Pre-Production Stage which is a critical phase of the project. Our ultimate goal would be to raise the total around $500,000 which would allow us to complete the film in late 2019 or early 2020.
We also have corporate sponsorships starting at $500. (If you are interested in a corporate sponsorship please contact John Fedack, Executive Producer, 404-825-6501).
We believe we will reach our funding goals and expect to exceed them. We have already secured access to film archives, locations and distribution. Every dollar is dedicated for the making of this legendary documentary and a portion of all contributions and film proceeds will be donated to The Miracle League to support Harmon's Charity of Choice, The Miracle League.
