Hi there!
My name is Kasey Lum—I'm a budding Asian-Canadian filmmaker from Vancouver, BC. I'm campaigning to make the sequel to a film I made in 2018 called "Kingspin". Firstly, this project is special to me because "Kingspin" was the project that launched my career and allowed people to take me seriously as a filmmaker. Secondly, continuing this saga would help me hone my craft and keep creating, hopefully allowing me to make more films~
To stay consistent with the first film, we need to continue shooting on 35mm film, which isn't cheap.
I'm asking for $20,000, half of which will go towards the purchase of 35mm film, process and scanning. The other half will be divided up into paying for crew labour, gear and location rentals, as well as the creation of Kingspin hats and shirts.
Perk 1: Be in the Film ($2500 and up)
Ever wanted to be on the big screen? You can start here! A donation of this amount will allow you to be an extra in the film during an important scene.
Perk 2: Become an Executive Producer ($1000 and up)
A donation of this amount will get your full name on the big screen next to an Executive Producer credit at the end of the film.
Perk 3: Kingspin Memorabilia ($250 and up)
Donations of this amount will get you a Kingspin shirt or hat—you decide.
Perk 4: Special Thanks ($50)
50 dollars will get your name credited at the end of the film under special thanks.
If the funding goal is not met, contributors who donated over $250 will receive a Kingspin shirt or hat, but the production of the film will be cancelled.
If you can't help financially, you can help by spreading the word about this campaign on your social accounts!

To paraphrase Ethan Hawke, "If you want to help your community, if you want to help your family, if you want to help your friends, you have to express yourself. And to express yourself, you have to know yourself" and to know yourself "you just have to follow your love". So, I hope that by following my passion, getting to create, getting to know myself, I can help the people around me—my family, my friends and my contributors.
