Well, that was fun.

I was asked to speak on a panel of sexperts as a prelude to the sex positive opera,
Three Way, at BAM. I love talking about sex in public, and the show was fantastic.
Critical Acclaim for Kink Doctor!
Dr. Michael Aaron applauded the series for sparking important conversations in his Psychology Today’s Standard Deviations article, saying the show “[explores] the world of kink through insightful interviews and sharp humor” and “has generated intense buzz throughout the BDSM community.”
Dan Maurio, actor on and producer of Chelsea Lately, tweeted “Kink is typically - and unthinkingly - represented with derision, or as camp, or as something freakishly dark. Here's a great antidote.”
Also, Sweeten the Perk!

We made a pilot! Now we need your help to finish the season.
Hi, I'm Kink Doctor (KD), and the pilot episode of our Web series is now live! I'm also known as Dulcinea Pitagora, a queer/poly/kink-identified, female-bodied, gender fluid, licensed psychotherapist and certified sex therapist practicing in New York City. My therapy practice focuses on providing affirmative, sex positive talk therapy to those with atypical sexual and gender expressions and identifications and/or relationship structures. I've also been a member of and mentor in the NYC kink scene for well over a decade, and I formerly worked as a professional dominatrix. I wouldn't want to say I've seen it all, but I've seen a LOT.

I'm considered an expert on BDSM, sexuality, and gender. I have three masters degrees (in psychology, social work, and sexuality education) and I'm an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and a doctoral candidate at Widener University’s clinical sexology PhD program. I've been quoted in the press several times, published articles in peer-reviewed journals, and presented at conferences on the topics of alternative sexuality and gender diversity. I conduct research and organize educational seminars and conferences in support of sex positivity. Take a look at my Linkedin profile if you'd like to see more details on any of the above.

Kink Doctor is a labor of love I'm undertaking to further help support and give voice to the kink community. I invested everything I could to create the pilot episode of season one. I am incredibly proud of the hard work my crew has put in, and am deeply grateful for all of the love and support I've received from my friends and chosen family to make this show happen. If that's you and you're reading this—THANK YOU!
We're not stopping with just a pilot though! We have a line up of super compelling and provocative guests from the NYC kink community confirmed and ready to fill out the rest of the season—but we can't make more shows without your help! There are too many misconceptions and misinterpretations out there about who kinky people are and what they do, and our goal is to help correct that by letting real people tell their own stories.
Help Us Fund Season One—You'll Get Perks & Like It!
We believe people who work should get paid. A lot of people pitched in to help make the pilot, and we're committed to making sure everyone is paid what they deserve for the rest of the season. Also, we want the show to get picked up! And that means it needs to be done right. To do that we need to raise $15k per episode, and $150k to cover the full season. If we don't reach our entire goal, we'll use the funding we get to make as many episodes as we can.
Let's face it though: Making a whole season or two would be WAY better. And by the way, if we go over our goal, funds will go toward seasons two, three, and four in other locales such as New Orleans, Amsterdam, and Tokyo. So let's just make them all! Why not, right? Also, if this campaign ends without funding all of the seasons and you'd like to help us make more shows, just let us know and we'll totally say yes to that.
In exchange for your financial support, you'll not only feel GREAT about backing a project with the aim of increasing sex positivity and awareness and acceptance of alternative sexual practices, but you'll also get perks! Some of these perks are once in a lifetime experiences that will keep you telling stories at cocktail parties and around the proverbial watercooler for years, perhaps decades to come. Check them out, you will not be disappointed. And if you are, tell me how to make them better! We're all in this together, and I'm open to any input you've got.
