Our Story

Coffee Black Productions was founded to perform plays simply, focusing on the playwright’s intentions without directorial embellishments that distort the playwright’s work.

Since its founding in 2009, Coffee Black Productions has produced over a dozen staged readings throughout New York City of new works by emerging playwrights, creating new and unique challenges for actors and directors, as well as playwrights. Having developed the stage reading to its furthest potential, we are now prepared to produce fully staged works.

What We Need & What You Get

$500.00 will cover the cost of our casting notice, audition & rehearsal space, publicity (posters, postcards and programs), and hopefully additional funds to compensate the actors and director.
