Short Summary
MAAC 4000 is a senior film production class at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, NB, Canada.
“Knots and Prods” goes to camera the last weekend of January 2016. Length will be 4 to 6 filming days.
Every dollar raised through your generous donations will help us produce a professional short film.
Here's a little bit about our film:
"Knots and Prods" is about two young cousins who roughhouse, make a mess of the house, and drive their quirky
grandmother a little crazy. Ever-lovely, though, Grandma takes it on herself to broaden the boys’
horizons, taking them on ‘cultural expeditions’ to restaurants in town, and refereeing when they
don’t get along as well as they should. Grandma passes away, one boy’s family finds windfall,
and the boys don’t reconnect until many years later, when the two don’t recognize each other
anymore. Over the course of a bar-fight and a long wait at the bus stop the two confront whether or
not the memory of Grandma is enough to keep them together.
What We Need & What You Get
With your generous donations we will be able to rent locations, equipment, feed our cast and crew, and promote our film through various film festivals. Some of the perks include: A digital copy of our film, a “Special Thanks” credit in our film, and an on-set experience where you can meet our cast / crew + be used as a Featured Extra!
The Impact
We’re not making a quintessential ‘student film.” We’re making a professionally-shot film that we genuinely believe can compete at respected film festivals. We want to share the finished product with the world so our contributors can see the impact of their generous donations.
Risks & Challenges
We go to camera the last weekend of January 2016, so time is of the essence. Having said that, we fully believe we can reach our financial goal!
