Who we are!
In 2012, Melissa and Stacey decided to start a small business making jams and jellies. Melissa's daughter was having problems digesting high fructose corn syrup. Thanks to crowdfunding, OmNomNom was born. We had a great first year, purchasing fruit from local farms, and coming up with over 50 different varieties of jam. We are fully licensed and insured and cook out of a commercial kitchen.
We are also two woman looking to make a difference! International Woman's Day showcases the hard working women who are tired of standing in the background.
We have been selling our delectable spreads at Farmer's Markets, Craft Fairs, and online since June of 2012. Recently we were approached by a couple of small stores in the area who would love to carry our product. The only problem is, with so many different flavors, to outsource labels would be so expensive we'd never be able to continue.
So once again we are turning to Crowd Funding to earn the money to get a label maker! With our own label maker we'd be able to print our own ingredient lists to put on our smooth sided glass jars so we could comply with state law to sell outside of small markets!
What We Need & What You Get
We need a label printer to print our own labels, and a fun touch, be able to make customized labels for our fans! Celebrating holidays and special events is made even more fun with not only a customized jam flavor, but also with a special label!
If we do not raise the full $2000 we need to get ourselves a label maker, we can settle for a laser printer and some editing prowess.
Should we exceed our goal, than not only will be able to get our laser printer, but also stock up on the toner we would need to keep spinning out customized labels as well as ingredient lists.
For those who donate, they have the chance to join the illustrious ranks of folks who have made our quirky names. Folks have the chance to either create a flavor of jam and name it, or name one of our 'boring' jams! (Keep it PG and non-trademarked please!) We have had a fantastic time in the past coming up with jam flavors unique to our style like Flamin' Peach, Twoots Twysted Tonic (Pineapple Upside Down Cake!), Smed Spread, and MudButt.
Even if you do not want to name a jam, you can still get some of our special spreadables sent directly to your door. We do ask that if you are not in our CT delivery range, you keep in mind that jam is heavy and fragile, so we need to take special precautions in sending it to you!
And of course, everyone who donates will have customized labels for life!
The Impact
We source a lot of our fruit and vegetables from local farms and orchards in the area. We also get our honey from a local apiary. So by helping us, you are also helping the small businesses that get by around us!
Our jams, relishes, and new this year pickles, are made by hand in small batches. Each pot of product is made with an individual touch. Tasting is done throughout the process to slowly add the sweetener; either cane sugar, honey, or stevia.
With our own labels, we can make sure everyone knows exactly what we put in our product (everything is pronounceable!) and can expose more people to our tasty conserves!
Other Ways You Can Help
Even if you don't have the money to donate to our cause, and lets be honest times are hard for everyone. Consider sharing our project, lets get the name OmNomNom Jams out farther!
