LADY Zine Volume 2
LADY is a donation-based zine for the female identifying entrepreneur. LADY exists to prove that we all can infuse our values into our business, workplace, and lifestyle. By publishing honest stories and artwork from our feminist community of change-makers, risk-takers, and believers, we encourage womxn to pursue their dreams. We see ourselves as a reservoir of communal consciousness; embracing connection, sharing resources, and inspiring small steps towards larger change.
Last Summer, we successfully launched LADY Vol.1 "Reclaiming the Body," which featured four entrepreneurs from the Seattle community. We celebrated the release with a launch party at Pruf Cafe & Bar! The LADY community has grown exponentially since then and with our expanded network, we have developed a second zine packed with more stories, more resources, and more art. LADY Vol.2 invites contributors and collaborators to explore the topic "Feminism in Food." We are featuring interviews with three female entrepreneurs in the Seattle food industry, two essays, an open submission art section, and more.
As the LADY team interviews entrepreneurs and designs the zine, we are committed to the feminist value of reimbursing collaborators for their time and energy. We also aim to keep our publication a free and accessible resource for the entrepreneurial community. Your donation will help us cover printing costs, as well as compensate the incredible womxn who have put in time and effort to bring this zine to fruition. If you'd like to know more about our finances, a brief cost breakdown has been provided below.
We feel now more than ever it is our duty to empower womxn and fuel positive relationships. By providing resources for one another through this zine and beyond, we show support for our fellow womxn and encourage each other to pursue our dreams.

The Impact
LADY exists to prove that we all can infuse our values into our business, workplace, and lifestyle. Our current capitalist economy convinces us that we have to compromise our values to survive. That is not true. LADY serves as a reservoir of collective consciousness, reminding us what can accomplish as female-identifying entrepreneurs: more connection, more healing, more equity.
LADY offers a space of exploration in anti-capitalist business practices and methods. We choose to highlight female entrepreneurs and small business owners based on their feminist approach to business models, often embodying a sense of curiosity, determination, healing, and truth. Building a platform of honesty and vulnerability, womxn are invited to share their truths, their experiences, and their resources. Through sharing, we lift one another up and make collective strides towards an abundant and equitable future. The stories and art published in LADY are invaluable to our Seattle community and to the world.
Risks & Challenges
Entrepreneurs are brave. Carving a new path for society, means stepping away from security and comfort. LADY has been a venture in entrepreneurship and has faced these same risks. Without enough financial support from the community, we risk losing the ability to publish the zine. The published zine has proven to be an important and meaningful outlet for womxn’s stories of triumph in entrepreneurship and a catalyst for empowering a female community on and off line.
LADY holds two core values in regard to finances:
- Womxn, and especially womxn of color, must be paid fairly for their work, time, & energy
- LADY will remain a free and accessible resource, in the spirit of equity and community
To accomplish both these goals, we need your support. We invite you to join us in stepping into a new paradigm of doing business.
