It would drive me nuts, and I made the things!
The new design sits looser, and automatically corrects itself when your wheels come back to the ground.

The new design allows SkaterTrainer to fit on a much wider range of skateboard wheels. From the smallest park wheels, to the larger cruiser wheels like old school and penny boards.

After 25 years of being away from a Skateboard, I wanted to get back on, ride and do tricks. After struggling to relearn tricks for several weeks, I figured that there had to be an easier way. During that 25 years away from skateboarding, I became an engineer. So I put my skills to work on finding an easier way to land tricks like Ollie's and kick flips. The main problem...wheels roll. So to keep the wheels still I created SkaterTrainers.

Why do I need SkaterTrainers?
SkaterTrainers help you learn skateboard tricks faster. They do this by improving your balance, developing muscle memory through repetition, and improving confidence. This is accomplished by preventing your wheels from rolling and the skateboard from moving while it is on the ground. Falls slow your learning dramatically with injuries and loss of confidence.
Why are we on Indiegogo?
We were excited about the great support that we got on the first round of SkaterTrainers. We improved on that version with an updated design, but to be able to go into mass production quickly for the holiday, we need to get enough pre-orders and we thought that the crowdfunding community was the perfect fit to help us get off the ground on SkaterTrainer 2.0.
What's your warranty policy?
100% against manufacturing defects. All things in skateboarding wear out, but SkaterTrainers will last for thousands of trick attempts.
PRODUCT QUESTIONS
I’ve seen SkaterTrainers before. How are the 2.0 SkaterTrainers different?
SkaterTrainers 2.0 are a significant improvement. We have listened to the feedback from SkaterTrainer 1.0 and spent the last year fixing every major issue. They are so much easier to get on and fit almost any skateboard wheel. Although they fit loose, they will never slip off during a trick. They are way more durable and are lighter weight. They also come in a fun, bright red color exclusive to Indiegogo
Will SkaterTrainers work with my skateboard and wheels?
SkaterTrainers were made to work on almost any skateboard wheel. They are optimized to work with modern trick skateboards (Popsicles), but will fit on any wheel from 49 mm – 70 mm including skateboard, cruiser, old school, and freeride longboard wheel. The only exception are wider longboard style wheels.
Where can I use SkaterTrainers?
Anywhere. They fit in your pocket if you want. You can use them in the driveway, in your garage, or even in your house.
What Type of Tricks can I do with My SkaterTrainers?
Skatertrainers are great for learning how to ollie. You can also dial in your balance on your manuals (wheelies as the parents call them). You can gain confidence confident in almost any skateboard trick (nollies, heelfips, shove-its, varials, treflips). More experienced skaters want to learn switch (parents: doing it backwards off the other foot). SkaterTrainers are great for learning switch tricks.
Is SkaterTrainer a safety device?
No. SkaterTrainer will cut down on many falls and spills while learning a trick, but there are still opportunities to fall, so a helmet is a good idea. SkaterTrainer does give you confidence knowing the skateboard will not shoot out from under you if you jump on it with both feet. Falling is a part of skateboarding, but it is better to do it later rather than sooner. Later you will know how to fall safely (Tuck your head, roll to your back, and don't stick your hands out....)
SkaterTrainer 2.0 Looks to Loose, won’t it come off the wheels with big tricks?
The new SkaterTrainer was engineered to fit loose. It makes it super easy to install, but it also is what keeps them from working their way off the wheel. They basically self align every time they hit the ground…and you never have to adjust them…we were surprised too. Trust us it works, we have done 1000’s of tricks on SkaterTrainer 2.0 and it has never came off.
