My Story
Im a student at the university of Birmingham who has come across a fantastic opportunity to travel to Thailand this summer with ISV. ISV is a non-profit organisation that allows students from all over the world to volunteer in many different countries, doing community/environmental work. I applied to go to Thailand on a community project in early 2011 and fortunatley i got accepted :) Im very excited to be going to Thailand this summer where i will be helping orphan children learn english, social and environmental studies as well as building playgrounds and schools for them in their local area. I need however to fund this trip entirely on my own by methods of fundraising, all the money goes towards the resources and equipment my team and I will need while in Thailand.
The Impact
This program helps children and families in many different countries such as The Dominican Republic, costa rica, south africa, Ecuador. And for some people who choose the environmental project, they work on creating a sustainable environment and taking care of the wildlife in poor areas. This program really aims to provide young students with knowledge and understanding of the world around them as well as teaching them the meanings of the words: generosity, united, team work and care.
What We Need & What You Get
I need 2,300 GBP in order to fund my trip, i hope to fundraise this money through several charity events as well as individual and business sponsorship. Every penny counts, so if you can and you will it, please sponsor me or donate here.
