Happy Tan (陈奕顺), is a film maker.
He is studying his Diploma in Film making and will lead him for his Degree in Film later. He was a Mass communication student who scored 3 distinctions.
Film making is his passion since he was young. He was a photographer for 6 years in the press and fashion photography. He now enjoys street photography and love to capture moments during his free time or during his oversea trips.
He wants to be a producer after he graduate and with the possibility to be a director if he is given a chance.
After just 3 months of his study to be a film maker, the school lecturer see his potential and passion in the film making industry and he was offered to work on Fendirumi project for luxury brand "Fendi" and NCSS 2016 Christmas MTV project.
He is now working on his first film, title "Letter to Mummy"(给妈妈的一封信), he write the story and prepare the script, he is also the film producer cum director for this film. He was interview by the Singapore Chinese newspaper regarding his film project.
Film making is his passion while photography is his hobby. He see himself working in the film industry for as long as he can, he wants to work with other film makers to make Singapore media industry more vibrant.
He hope he can learn more skills from experience oversea producers and directors in future.

“Letter for Mummy” (给妈妈的一封信)is a film that tells the story of a lady who was diabetic and had a lower limb amputation due to toe infection.
She had to cope with her life on the wheel chair for the rest of her life. How she live her life after the amputation and how had she changed his son view about life.
As a mother, she struggled to maintain her dignity for her family and she had to cope with it although she was on wheel chair and she had other health issues. She struggled to the end and passed away on her bed after cooking the last dinner for her family.
The number of people with diabetes in the world has risen from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014, according to World Health Organization (WHO). It is a chronic illness that everyone may get, the only way to prevent it is a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise.
Diabetes is a complicated illness that contains other health elements like; cardio vascular disease, hypertension, kidney failure, stroke, limb amputation, blindness and the lists go on.
It is important to bring awareness to everyone about this disease and educate them on the seriousness of diabetes.

No matter young or old anyone can get it. It is a chronic disease and need lifelong medication to control.
It is an urgent task for us to send out a message to our younger generation. Diabetes affects the quality of our life.
The only way to prevent it is through healthy diet and lifestyle.

1) “Letter for Mummy” (给妈妈的一封信)will help create awareness of Diabetes and other illnesses that link to diabetes.
2) To work with crowd funding backers, individuals, organizations and companies to support in educating the prevention of diabetes and to promote healthy lifestyle.
3) To take part in international and local film festivals and to spread the message about the danger of diabetes and prevention through film festivals the film has take part.

THE CHALLENGES I FACE.......
I am a student at Singapore Media Academy, studying my Diploma in Film making which is funded by the government. This is my first project and it is not a school project. My desire to make this short film because I had come across several diabetic patients and a few had their amputation, kidney failure, blindness etc.
The main challenge for me is to secure a funding.
I am making this project to be an educational short film to educate people on the seriousness of diabetes and to have empathy toward amputees.
The project will goes on and educate people around the world about diabetes.
Your support to my project is very important. This is a mission for me and you to create awareness on diabetes, to promote healthy lifestyle and show empathy towards amputees. IT IS AN URGENT MESSAGE TO THE WORLD that we have neglect all this while.
