The amount we just raised allows us to film our next leg in the USA with Sam, but if we continue to raise funds we can really invest in additional shoots, as well as post production - licensing, graphics, and editing - and make this film the best we possibly can.

We really need you!

"Life After Flash" is a documentary that will take a deep, and honest, look at the life of Sam J Jones since that life changing role. He is known as that iconic character...but what of his life since?

"Life After Flash" will follow the successes, the stories, the heartaches, and the life, of this fascinating man who is best known as a cult icon.

We already have some great interviews in the bag, but we want to delve deep! Max Von Sydow, Robbie Coltrane (remember the man at the hangar!?), Kenny Baker.... to celebrity fans including Edgar Wright, Alex Ross and Seth MacFarlane (there's a reason Sam was in TED!) as well as other artists like Roger Taylor from Queen.

We have already travelled to Laredo, Texas to meet with Sam himself, and to begin initial filming. This was funded by us personally, and we have continued to film across the UK out of our own pockets, now we really want to get our teeth stuck into the full feature!

Flash.....Ah...ahhh! You BET he saved every one of us!

WHY ARE WE MAKING THIS FILM?

As Flash Gordon fans, this is a film that we would want to see ourselves. The film captivated us as kids, and still to this day takes us back to those magical moments as kids.

The concept began at a party when the two Lisa's were chatting. The conversation went something like:

Lisa #1: "How's things?"

Lisa #2: "Great - just finished on The Jump with Sam J Jones"

Lisa #1: "What?! Flash Gordon? I LOVE him! I've always wanted to do a documentary on him, his life and what he's up to now. I would call it Life After Flash!"

Lisa #2: "Well, why don't we! Put together a pitch and let's contact his agent! More wine?"

And thus "Life After Flash" was born. A film like this is a true passion project, and it means so much every time we hear a fan tell us that they support us. Independent film will always triumph because there is heart behind it, and we want to make this film for the fans who have supported Sam and Flash Gordon all these years.

The fans that make those trips to Comic Cons, and the fans that take the time to watch the movies, make those costumes and know the film off by heart....we want to give something back to the fans, as well as create something special for those involved in the film.

We hope that people support our independent project, and bring Flash Gordon to life once more.

THE SPEND

This £10,000 will get us to the USA to film key actuality with Sam in both San Diego and Mexico, really sit down with Sam for in-depth discussions, and travel to places like Los Angeles and Chicago for other key interviews.

If we are lucky and raise more than our goal, then yay thank you everyone! This additional funding will then go towards our "actual" budget where we can make the film as we really would like to - with more coverage of the cast at events, and bringing a stronger design element into the piece.

But, with production it's baby steps and we want to make sure we don't miss key moments that would really bring something special to the feature.

So, we REALLY hope that every Flash Gordon fan allows us, fellow Flash Gordon fans, to create this project.
